Calculating specific heat, c_p

Once λ and κ have been measured, the specific heat, c_p, can be calculated by solving the definition of thermal diffusivity [Kittel and Kroemer, 1980] for specific heat:

where ρ is sample's bulk density. The dependence of c_p on κ means the scatter in c_p is essentially controlled by the scatter in κ .
