Scientific Purpose/Goals: Resource exploration well drilled by a consortium of oil companies in the Southeast Georgia Embayment area. Continental Offshore Stratigraphic Test No. GE-1 well (COST GE-1) was drilled by the OCEAN STAR, a jack-up drill barge operated by Ocean Production Company, to evaluate petroleum potential and possible drilling problems.
