Scientific Purpose/Goals: Test the coupling response of the USGS ocean bottom seismometer (OBIP) for several different anchor configurations and bottom sediment types. The tests were conducted by instantaneously releasing a float attached to the instrument package and recording the sediment-instrument resonance thus excited. Grab samples were also taken at the two sites tested.
