Data Type(s): Imagery: Photo, Imagery: Video, Location-Elevation: Navigation, Sampling: Biology, Sampling: Geology, Seismics: Sub Bottom Profiler, Sonar: Sidescan, Seismics: Boomer

Scientific Purpose/Goals: Ground truthing and nearshore geophysical surveys of Lake Erie.

Vehicle(s):

Start Port/Location: Sandusky, OH

End Port/Location: Sandusky, OH

Start Date: 1993-08-09

End Date: 1993-08-23

Equipment Used: Boomer, Sidescan sonar, 3.5 kHz, Grab sampler, Gravity corer, Push corer (wh), Video camera - deep sea, Nikonos camera, GPS (wh)

Information to be Derived:

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: This cruise was part of a series of USGS/OGS co-operative cruises to map Lake Erie. 47 tracklines.

Staff: Kenneth F. Parolski, Barry Irwin, VeeAnn Cross

Affiliate Staff:
Ron Circe

Notes: Submitted by A. Orton for R. Circe 10/17/08.
Project = Great Lakes - Ohio Co-op, Great Lakes - Ohio Co-op
Information from Foghorn: 10 folders sidescan sonar printouts, 24 VHS tapes (boomer?), 3 rolls boomer profiles, 1 seismics log, raw navigation, edited navigation, 16 trackmaps (copies). Sidescan sonar, sub-bottom profiler, Q-MIPS, grab sampler, gravity corer, diver corer, video, 35mm camera, diver communication system;
Updated by VeeAnn: Ken and Barry did mobilization and shakedown. VeeAnn ran the geophysical part of the survey. If there was ground-truthing, she wasn't involved and it happened after she left and is unsure of who was involved in that.
