Objectives: To conduct a 100-kHz sidescan sonar survey of Roanoke Point, New York, and Falkner Island and Long Sand Shoal, Connecticut, to determine textural distributions of surficial sediments, to relate distribution to active sedimentary processes and to delineate habitats and relate them to benthic communities; and to provide reconnaissance sidescan sonar data in areas not previously covered.
