Summary Information for Field Activity 2010-028-FA

Objectives: Collect pre-spawning adult river herring from Trunk River in order to determine the flux of mercury in this coastal ecosystem by way of migrating fish.

Summary: Six adult pre-spawn river herring were collected using nets from Trunk River, 20 m upstream of the Bike Path bridge. Wendy Buesseler (Oyster Pond Environmental Trust) had counted 75 herring passing upstream between sunset and 2030 on March 31.
