Other ID: none

Status: Completed

Organization(s): USGS, Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center

Funding Program(s):

Principal Investigator(s): Patrick Dickhudt

Affiliate Investigator(s):

Information Specialist(s): Patrick Dickhudt

Data Type(s): Environmental Data: Turbidity, Imagery: Photo, Visual Identification: Ground Truthing

Scientific Purpose/Goals: Test response of LISST-Holo to standard particles of known size and concentration. Compare to LISST-100X response.

Vehicle(s):

Start Port/Location: University of Maine, Orono, ME

End Port/Location: University of Maine, Orono, ME

Start Date: 2011-06-14

End Date: 2011-06-16

Equipment Used: LISST-Holo, Digital camera, Mooring tripod

Information to be Derived: Laboratory sensor data;

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: Evaluate performance of LISST-Holo using glass beads and bentonite. Compare LISST-Holo results to LISST-100X. Data to be used to evaluate sensitivity of holography technique to particle concentrations and as "controlled data" to tune image analysis algorithms.
