All one need do to start cslice is to type
>> cslice ( 'filename' );
from within the MATLAB environment, and assuming that filename is a valid ECOM NetCDF file, you should be off and running. The initialization process should be much faster with the new version under MATLAB 5.0
When cslice starts up, you should see a matlab window looking like the one below. Here we have a view of the depth variable in Massachusetts Bay. depth really isn't a 3D variable, so perhaps "slice of depth" isn't really accurate (depth will look the same for any value of depth you try). We can now choose our next action from the horizontal slice menubar, or from the depth, time, or color min/max widgets at the bottom of the window.
