Obligations of RMOBS Participants

1. Initiation of a RMOBS will generally be in response to a request from the regional earthquake and volcano coordinators and other interested scientists. The OBS facility expects that individual groups interested in conducting an RMOBS for a given event will develop a deployment plan.
   
   
2. Integration of the data collected by the OBS with on-shore network data will be the responsibility of the scientist requesting the RMOBS.
   
   
3. Data collected during an RMOBS must be submitted to the DMC within one year of the deployment.
   
   
4. Requests for instruments to support RMOBS outside of the US must also demonstrate advance preparation to assure customs clearance for the equipment and adequate access to deployment sites.
