Instrumentation
We maintain a basic inventory of instrumentation for measuring
oceanographic parameters in-situ over long periods of time
(4 to 12 months) and the platforms on which to deploy the
instruments. Parameters include current speed and direction,
temperature, salinity and turbidity. We maintain data loggers
which can be easily customized to accommodate new sensors
as the need arises.
Most frequently used instrumentation:
- Sea Bird Seacat 16 and 16plus to measure and internally
log temperature, salinity, pressure and to log external
sensors such as a transmissometer or optical backscatter
sensor.
- Sea Bird Microcat 37SM to measure and internally log temperature
and salinity.
- Vector Measuring Current
Meter (VMCM)
- Sontek Hyrdra data logger and Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter
(ADV) and Pulse-Coherent Acoustic Doppler Profiler (PCADP)
- Brancker data logger
- Aquatec ABS
- MAVS
- RDI Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP), 1200, 600
& 300 kHz
- Sea Tech Transmissometer, 25 cm, 5 cm
- WetLabs C-Star Transmissometer
- Sea Bird SBE-4 Conductivity Cell
- Sea Bird Pump
- Paroscientific Digiquartz Pressure Sensors
- Edgetech Acoustic Releases, 8242 & CART
