Vector Measuring Current Meter

Phot of VMCM being deployed

The VMCM is the white cylindrical case with the two white propellers above, in the center of the tall metal cage. We use VMCM's where we wish to measure mean currents in the presence of waves.

Joe Newell is assisted by the crew of the US Coast Guard Buoy Tender White Heath in deploying the current meter on our subsurface mooring site ten miles east of Boston, MA.
