This map shows the Cape Cod study area, encompassing 45 km of shoreline along the outer Atlantic coast of Cape Cod. This map also show the along-coast distance scale used in the storm results example. The distance scale ranges from 0 km at Race Point (near Provincetown) to 45 km at Nauset Inlet. The section of coast marked "bluff-backed coast" ranges from 17.5 km to 45.0 km and is used for shoreline averaging in the example showing seasonal changes in shoreline position.
