A portion of western Massachusetts Bay, from Stellwagen Basin west to approximately the 30 m isobath, was mapped using a Simrad EM-1000 multibeam echo sounder. The data are divided in 3 quadrangles. For quadrangles 1 and 2, paper maps of topography, shaded relief topography, and shaded relief topography colored by backscatter intensity are available. Quadrangle 3 is not completed. The digital data for all three quadrangles are published in USGS Data Series 99. The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) ocean outfall is located in Quadrangle 2.
Cooperators: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), University of New Brunswick (UNB), Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS).
