Logbook Summary:

JD 055 - 24 February, 1997:

   7:30 - Leave Dock.  Problems getting YONAV up and running
  14:30 - Tuning Geopulse and 3.5 kHz.  Start first Nav Floppy (Tape 1).
          YONAV work and 3.5 kHz looks good.  Sidescan looks poor due to
          wind and wave action.
  15:17 - Start Line 1, but seas are too rough for subbottom systems.
  16:52 - During Lines 6 and 7 change cruise seaward a number of time due
          to nearshore sand bars.
  17:09 - During Line 7 Geopulse power supply is down due to burnt fuse.
  17:11 - Geopulse back on.
  18:45 - Mudseismic crashs 
  19:39 - Blew fuse on Geopulse power supply.
  19:42 - Fuse fixed.
  20:17 - End Line 15, pull gear and transit back to dock.

JD 056 - 25 February, 1997:

   7:30 - Leave dock.
  14:38 - Line 16 has a navigation error (do not process).
  15:19 - ISIS system crashs.  
  15:20 - ISIS system back up. New tape.
  15:33 - ISIS locked up again.  Reboot ISIS and switch to hard disk to avoid
         tape change.  Continue recording on Hard Disk for rest of the day.
  17:00 - End Line 20. Pull gear and transit back to dock.

JD 058 - 27 February, 1997:

  12:01 - Seas too rough for survey.

JD 060 - 1 March, 1997

  12:14 - Begin survey of Isle of Palms.  Set sidescan fish layback to "zero".
  13:52 - Lost water depth feed to Navigation.  Restart nav. program. 
  14:02 - ISIS system locked up.  Start new file writing to hard disk.
  16:25 - Icrease output power (280 j) to try and improve subbottom penetration
  18:14 - Navigation droped out.
  18:15 - Navigation back on line.
  20:54 - Head into port.

JD 063 - 4 March, 1997

  12:03 - Leave dock.
  14:17 - Due to the high amount of shrimpers in the area, we see their
         "drag" on the sidescan sonar.
  17:01 - Way off line! (Heavy fog and high winds.)
  18:46 - Fog too heavy - head into port.

JD 064 - 5 March, 1997

  15:53 - Leave dock, but harbor is fogged in - turn back.

JD 065 - 6 March, 1997

  12:15 - Leave dock.  Strong winds.
  13:25 - Sidescan sonar data will probably be altered due to white caps.
  15:11 - 100kHz data is worthless.  
  17:43 - Still see noise on 100kHz, but seas have calmed down a bit.
  20:08 - Seas calmed down and data looks good.
  21:39 - Returned to dock.
