The hydrographic data were averaged to 1 m intervals and cross-bay sections
created for temperature, salinity, sigma-t and beam attenuation (see below). To create these sections,
data were padded into the sea floor to the depth of the adjacent (deeper) station prior to contouring, and
contours blanked out within 2 m of the sea floor. The hydrographic sections are
referenced to low water at Site B determined from the pressure observations
(tide times). The data in the
temperature, salinity, beam attenuation, and sigma-t profiles are averaged over 2
m vertically; data in the Brunt-Vaisaila profiles are averaged over 4
m vertically.
