Geology, Contaminants, and Environmental Issues

Geographic Information Systems and Data Archives

A Geographic Information System (GIS) allows users to visualize and query inter-disciplinary attribute data in a geographic context. Data layers provided here include: depositional environments, sediment grain size, total organic carbon, geochemistry, sidescan sonar imagery, and station locations for biological studies.

LIS Resource Center  exit

The Resource Center was formed under the joint sponsorship of the Connecticut Department of Natural Resources and the Marine Science & Technology Center of the University of Connecticut. The Center has several primary functions: Collecting, cataloging and archiving the "grey" literature concerning Long Island Sound, Geographic Information System (GIS) Services, Long Island Sound Habitat Mapping, and Characterization.
