Horizontal Mooring (HM) TemperaturesAn animation of the contoured temperature and point current observations made by the instruments in the horizontal array was created for each of the 49 internal wave events observed at Site B. The temperature observations were made every 15 seconds by MicroCats or SeaCats. The current observations were made by FSI current meters averaged over ninety seconds. For the animation, both data series were interpolated to 1-minute intervals. The horizontal current was rotated along 60-240 degrees to match the direction of propagation of the internal wave packets and the orientation of the horizontal array. The animations are two hours long and begin about 15 minutes before the internal waves packets arrive at the horizontal mooring. The movie runs at 2 frames/s; 30 seconds of animation is 1 hour in real time. The animation may be viewed using an image viewer such as Quicktime or Windows Media Player.
