  Description:  5 Meter Bathymetry For Stellwagen Bank, Cape Cod and Massachusetts Bay
    Abstract:
     The 5 meter bathymetry for Stellwagen Bank originates from the
     CD-ROM that contains bathymetric sounding information for U.S. Coastal
     Waters collected by the National Ocean Survey and distributed by the
     National Geophysical Data Center.  The data on this CD-ROM contains no
     new or corrected information -- the bathymetry data here is a
     repackaged form of the data from a 3 CD-ROM set obtained from NGDC in
     March, 1994.  The raw bathymetry data for each region was decoded and
     converted to depth in meters, and was reformatted into files that can
     be directly fed into gridding and visualization packages.  The 15 second
     gridded data was simply reformatted to make it also more ammenable to
                         analysis and visualization tools.
